Timna Park-group activities

Summer evening excursions

Biking in Timna

Our tour starts with a drive along the Arava Rift Valley. When we reach the Hai Bar, we will visit the Predators Center, which will include the unique experience of observing the night feeding of the animals. We will then continue on to a tour of Timna Park. Some of the more dramatic natural formations at Timna Park are floodlit at night, such as Mt. Boreg, King Solomon’s Pillars, the Sphinx, the Hanging Stone, the Sheep’s Head, and the Nechushtan Ridge. Our evening ends with a feast at the Bedouin Tent.

Family Fun Day

We set out from Eilat and proceed north along the Israel-Jordan border to the Doum Palms and the flamingo ponds. The tour in Timna Park offers a fun and educational family experience. The ancient Egyptians and their skillful methods of copper production as well as a geologist’s view of the park are some of the topics that comprise this experience. We also incorporate a visit to some of the exceptional sites in Timna, including the Mushroom, the Arches, the Valley of Inscriptions with its amazing collection of ancient rock carvings, and King Solomon’s Pillars.

Archery range

At the lake, family members participate in a variety of fun and creative activities such as filling bottles with colored sand, ‘pressing’ King Solomon coins, creating sand pictures, and working with clay.

Fun and Challenging

Fun days full of more demanding activities are waiting for your group near the red sandstone cliffs. We offer a rappelling site, an 18-meter Omega, a climbing wall and an archery range, as well as an arts and crafts area for younger children. After your workout, choose from a variety of relaxing pastimes. There is plenty of seating, with natural shade and a refreshment corner. The ‘Therapy Tent’ offers you a choice of holistic treatments, including reflexology, shiatsu, massage, and Tai Chi. In the Zula, find games to challenge your mind from chess, backgammon, and Trivia to checkers, cards and Rummi Kub. In the ‘Cave’, satisfy your curiosity about the future with a reading in coffee or cards.

Lunch is also available.
